Goth-rock riffs and a sobering percussive weight define vide’s latest single, where ambient textures serve as a chilling counterpoint to the macabre, swamp-infested horror of their deliciously blackened metal.

Since the release of their 2020 debut Hanging By The Bayou Light, vide emerged from the shadows with a bold and cinematic vision of metal—drawing from a distinct palette of goth, post-punk, and sludge-laced intensity. Initially the solo project of frontperson Nobody, vide has since evolved into a full band, releasing two more critically praised records: Death Roll and The Parish.

In 2021, vide collaborated with Frank Iero’s side project BLOODNUN on the nightmarish 8-track split EP Beneath the Unholy—a haunting meeting of minds that further expanded the band’s sonic mythology.

Followers of Joyless and Darkthrone will be drawn in by the striking juxtaposition of haunting, grim basslines and ambient swirls of melody; the deft coalescence of vide's latest output will both hook and haunt listeners.

Melding the anguished textures of darkwave with punk-edged percussion and doom-laden atmospheres, vide creates music that mesmerizes as much as it terrifies. Their songs are steeped in tortured ethereality—then violently awakened by a crushing, rhythmic force.

Twice named in CVLT Nation’s Top 10 Black Metal Albums of the Year, vide now returns with their most compelling work to date: a new collection, decorated in spiderweb, ready to ensnare fans in its bleak, beautiful chaos.
